KUALA TERENGGANU, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- Operators of all tourist accommodations in Terengganu are advised to register with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC).
The director at the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Office in Terengganu, Mazshidal Roslal, said that so far, 181 hotels and resorts in the state have done so.
She said there are still a few operators, especially budget hotels, who have not done so as required under the Tourism Industry Act 1992.
"This year alone, we have held about 20 advocacy sessions with tourism industry players to enlighten them on the need to register with MOTAC. This is to ensure the quality of hotel services at the best level," she said at a programme with the media here.
Meanwhile, Mazshidal said that her office has established the MADANI MOTAC Charity Squad to assist in post-flood clean-up work in the state.
She said the main focus is tourist spots, such as beaches, picnic areas and tourist accommodations.
