BANGSA MALAYSIA CHARACTER BUILDING PROGRAMME EMPHASISES LEADERSHIP, PATRIOTISM, SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

SEREMBAN, Dec 13  (Bernama) -- Negeri Sembilan, as the pioneer of the Bangsa Malaysia Character Building Programme for Form Six Students, has successfully mobilised more than 1,000 volunteers since its launch in 2023.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the programme is grounded in the elements of leadership, social responsibility and patriotism, aligned with the six pillars of MADANI.

The initiative, he said, plays an important role in producing quality, competitive and principled students, while supporting efforts to nurture a future generation of leaders.

“Young people need to interact more widely and build friendships beyond their usual circles, while strengthening the values of mutual respect.

“When facing any issue, do not act based on emotions. The country has a constitution, and young people must think rationally and exercise consideration,” he said at a town hall session of the Bangsa Malaysia Character Building Programme for Form Six students involving 240 participants here last night.

Aminuddin said the programme, organised by the Negeri Sembilan Education Department (JPNNS) in collaboration with the Negeri Sembilan Foundation (YNS) and Pertubuhan Penggerak Madani Negeri Sembilan, serves as a benchmark for the National Character Building programme.

He said the spirit of togetherness is the most important element, as it represents the country’s true strength.

“I want to see the students before me become leaders, whether in service to the nation, state, organisation or family.

“Be a good leader and do not tarnish the country’s name through corruption. Study hard, pursue knowledge diligently, and use sound judgment and all available information to make wise decisions,” he said.

Meanwhile, Aminuddin said 42 volunteers comprising Form Six students, Penggerak MADANI and Persatuan Mahasiswa Anak Negeri Sembilan (Permanis) Kebangsaan members will take part in the Global MADANI Outreach 2025 in Pekanbaru, Indonesia, from Dec 20 to 23.

He said the programme aims to foster the exchange of ideas with Indonesian students and create a meaningful impact through the spirit of brotherhood and dialogue between participants from both countries.
