KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 19 (Bernama) -- The Youth and Sports Ministry today witnessed the official handover of duties from Hannah Yeoh to the newly-appointed Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari in Bangkok, on the sidelines of the 33rd SEA Games Thailand 2025.
The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS), in a statement, said that Hannah expressed her appreciation to the KBS staff, agencies under the ministry and all stakeholders for their cooperation and support throughout her tenure.
She also expressed confidence in the ministry's new leadership to continue carrying out the national youth and sports development agenda.
Meanwhile, Dr Mohammed Taufiq declared his commitment to continuing the ministry's policies and programmes, with an emphasis on athlete welfare, support for the Malaysian contingent competing in the biennial Games and the empowerment of youth development matters.
The handover ceremony was held following the Cabinet reshuffle announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Tuesday (Dec 16), which sees Hannah now hold the post of Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories).
"The ceremony was also witnessed by KBS secretary-general Nagulendran Kangayatkarasu, the ministry's top leadership, the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) president (Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria) and the Malaysian contingent that is in Bangkok for the SEA Games,” it added.
The SEA Games Thailand 2025 will conclude tomorrow.
