KOTA BHARU, Dec 27 (Bernama) -- Twelve people have been remanded for four days to assist with investigations into a brawl and riot at the Melor public market last Thursday.
Kota Bharu Police Chief ACP Mohd Rosdi Daud told Bernama the remand order against five men and seven women, from early 20s to late 50s, was issued by Magistrate Rais Imran Hamid at the Kota Bharu Magistrate’s Court.
He added that the remand period begins today to facilitate further investigations in accordance with the law.
Yesterday, police arrested 12 individuals to assist with investigations into the riot at the market.
