KOTA KINABALU, Dec 31 (Bernama) -- A man, believed to be in his 40s, died after being electrocuted while painting a house in Phase 3, Kampung Likas, here this morning.
Lintas Fire and Rescue Station chief Agustavia Joe Guasi said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel after sustaining severe injuries, including burn marks and a severed wrist.
He said the department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 10.03 am via the MERS999 line.
“A team of 10 firefighters was dispatched to the scene, located about three kilometres from the station, along with a fire engine and the Emergency Medical Rescue Services unit,” he said when contacted today.
The victim’s body was later handed over to the police after death was confirmed by health personnel for further action, with the operation ending at 11.10 am.
