MOSCOW, Jan 2 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- The combined wealth of Russia’s richest entrepreneurs rose by US$18.378 billion in 2025, according to Sputnik/RIA Novosti calculations based on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI).
Alisher Usmanov of Metalloinvest and Megafon, who remained in sixth place, recorded the largest increase, with his fortune climbing from US$6.04 billion to US$19.3 billion.
The index is calculated based on the value of the shares of companies in which billionaires own stakes.
For some companies, the calculation is based on the ratio of market capitalisation to EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortisation) or on the price-to-earnings ratio.
The BBI ranking includes the world's 500 wealthiest people, and currently includes 20 Russian citizens, with their combined wealth amounting to US$299.27 billion as of Jan. 2.
Vladimir Potanin, one of Norilsk Nickel's main shareholders, remains in first place, though his wealth has decreased by US$1.44 billion to US$26.4 billion.
Alexey Mordashov, the Severstal steelmaker's primary beneficiary, is in second place, with his wealth increasing by US$3.02 billion to US$26.3 billion.
Vladimir Lisin, the beneficiary of the NLMK steelmaker, rounds out the top three, with his wealth decreasing by US$2.08 billion to US$23.7 billion in 2025.
