KINABATANGAN, Jan 10 (Bernama) -- The nomination process for the Kinabatangan parliamentary and Lamag state by-elections proceeded smoothly without incident today.
Kinabatangan police chief Supt Ravi Duraisamy said all parties cooperated fully and adhered to instructions.
“While the traffic diversions caused some congestion this morning as the roads are used by the public for deliveries and other purposes, the situation remained under control,” he told reporters after the nominations at Dewan Sri Lamag.
The by-elections were called following the death of the incumbent, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, 66, on Dec 5 last year.
The Election Commission has set the polling day for both by-elections on Jan 24, with early voting on Jan 20.
