RM1.2 MILLION IN EDUCATION ASSISTANCE CHANNELLED TO OVER 4,000 RECIPIENTS IN SUNGAI BULOH

SUNGAI BULOH, Jan 17 (Bernama) -- A total of RM1.2 million in allocations has been channelled to more than 4,000 residents in the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency through various education-related initiatives since 2024.

Sungai Buloh Member of Parliament Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said the recipients comprised students from diverse backgrounds, particularly those from underprivileged families, who benefited from programmes such as Back to School Assistance, Higher Education Assistance and the SPM Excellent Student Incentive.

Ramanan, who is also the Minister of Human Resources, said education remains a top priority as it is the key to securing a brighter future.

“Through education, children can obtain better jobs and stable incomes, which in turn help uplift their families. I hope this assistance helps ease their burden and motivates them to strive for academic excellence,” he said.

He was speaking at the Back to School Contribution Ceremony for the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency, held in collaboration with Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM), here today.

At the event, a total of 1,000 children received assistance, with 750 of them each receiving RM150 in cash to help prepare for the new school term, while the remaining recipients were provided with school supplies such as bags, uniforms and stationery.

When met by reporters, Ramanan reaffirmed his commitment to continue and further expand education-related initiatives in the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency.

“This year, more educational programmes will be implemented through the Sungai Buloh Parliamentary People’s Service Centre, in collaboration with various parties, over the coming months,” he said.
