IPOH, Jan 26 (Bernama) -- Any party or individual who lodges a report on misconduct or corruption involving public interest must ensure that the information provided is accurate and comes from credible sources, said Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.
He said some complaints submitted to the authorities are incomplete and resemble poison-pen letters.
“The Perak state government has received complaints and forwarded them to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), but some were merely anonymous letters.
“While we welcome a culture of coming forward to lodge complaints, they must be genuine and sincere. It should not be just because someone feels dissatisfied and decides to take that route. We do not want such practices to proliferate,” he said.
He told reporters this after attending the 2026 Perak Integrity and Anti-Corruption Convention and the state-level launch of the Keep Malaysia Clean (KMC) programme at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here today.
Saarani said 30 government departments and agencies participated in the KMC, which aims to strengthen integrity practices, particularly within the public sector.
