CAMBODIA

 

1.GOOD FARMING IMPROVES RICE OUTPUT -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE 

Cambodia's rice production increase resulted from expanded cultivation areas, improved farming techniques, favourable rainfall distribution, and effective climate impact mitigation, rather than the use of fertiliser or hybrid rice cultivation.

 

2.ANCIENT TEMPLE NOT MILITARY BASE -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE  

The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts rejected allegations that the Temple of Preah Vihear has been used as a military base. The Ministry said the temple is a sacred cultural and religious monument.

1.INDONESIA'S US TRADE TARIFF TRIMMED TO 15 PERCENT, SAYS MINISTER -- ANTARA

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto announced on Friday that Indonesia's general trade tariff rate with the United States has been reduced from 19 percent to 15 percent.

 

2.BALI POLICE NAME SIX FOREIGNERS IN UKRAINIAN KIDNAP CASE -- ANTARA

The Bali Regional Police have named six foreign nationals as suspects in the alleged kidnapping of Ukrainian citizen Ihor Komarav, 28, who was reported missing on February 15.

1.INDONESIAN-BACKED AVIATION TRAINING -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Myanmar Airways International and Indonesia’s Perkasa Flight School are partnering to promote aviation education. Perkasa will offer international pilot and cadet training for Myanmar students in Indonesia. 

 

2.PROTECTING ANCIENT INSCRIPTIONS WITH RTI -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Experts are using Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI) technology to preserve ancient stone inscriptions in Bagan, a  World Heritage Site. The inscriptions are fading due to weather conditions and are also damaged by erosion.

The alcohol limit determining drink driving will be more than halved, and the authorities are looking to reduce the maximum number of demerit points that can be accumulated to make it easier to suspend reckless drivers.

1.ELECTRIC BUSES DRIVE SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT -- VIETNAMPLUS

Ho Chi Minh City will deploy 169 electric buses on nine routes from March 1. The buses will support the city’s transition to a greener public transport network and contribute towards sustainable commuting.

 

2.EXPO TO EXPAND TRADE TIES WITH JAPAN -- VIETNAMPLUS

The 11th Vietnam-Japan Festival taking place in Ho Chi Minh City from March 7 to 8 is expected to attract around half a million visitors. It aims to promote sustainable development and build a prosperous Japan-Vietnam relationship.
