KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 (Bernama) -- The family of national Muay Thai exponent Johan Ghazali, who are currently stranded in Mekah, Saudi Arabia, will only have a new flight schedule in the next two or three days.

Johan’s mother, Jennana Lynn Johnson. said that the family was currently waiting for the latest information from the airlines about the flight schedule and are staying in Mekah.

"Right now we just wait for the update from Malaysia Airlines, they said new departure will take about two to three days.

But we are safe here in Mekah and the accommodation is provided due to flight delays, part of the tour agency," she said when contacted by Bernama today, after media outlets carried reports showing Johan’s Instagram post stating that his Malaysia Airlines flight had been cancelled due to the closure of certain international airspaces.

Jennana also said the delayed departure back to Malaysia would not affect Johan’s training schedule and upcoming tournaments as he would not be competing throughout the month of Ramadan.

"It's Ramadan, so Johan is taking a break from any championship,” she said.
