SABAH FLOODS: 377 EVACUEES REMAIN AT RELIEF CENTRES THIS EVENING

KOTA KINABALU, March 2 (Bernama) -- A total of 377 evacuees from 136 families in Sabah are still seeking shelter at one relief centre as of 4 pm today.

According to the Sabah disaster management committee secretariat, the number of evacuees had dropped from 470 people from 180 families at noon.

“All evacuees are villagers afftected by flooding in Beaufort and are currently at PPS Dewan Dun Banir,” the secretariat said in a statement today.

A total of 93 villages in Beaufort have been hit by floods so far.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department forecasted no rains in Sabah this morning, but several areas in the interior is expected to have thunderstorms in the afternoon and night.
