PORT KLANG, March 4 (Bernama) -- EHH Food Industry Sdn Bhd’s Iftar and Yee Sang 2026 ceremony, held yesterday, underscored how differences in tradition can serve not as barriers, but as bridges fostering unity and harmony in a multiracial community.

Port Klang assemblyman Azmizam Zaman Huri said that the event reflects the mutual respect that has long formed the foundation of harmony among the local community.

“Although Muslims are observing Ramadan and the Chinese community is celebrating Chinese New Year, the goal of both is the same - to strengthen bonds. Therefore, this iftar (breaking-of-fast) and Yee Sang ceremony symbolises unity and mutual respect.

“These are values that are extremely important, especially in Port Klang, which has a multiracial community,” he said when met by Bernama at the Iftar & Yee Sang 2026 - Berbeza Tradisi Satu Hati (Different Traditions, One Heart) - held at the factory office lobby and the new site area of EHH Food Industry in Telok Gong here yesterday.

Azmizam also expressed appreciation to EHH Food Industry for its continued commitment to organising community welfare programmes, including annual contributions to orphans from Pertubuhan Baitul Sakinah As-Syariff to assist with preparations for Syawal.

He expressed hope that more companies and organisations would come forward to join hands in assisting the underprivileged, especially in the lead-up to Aidilfitri.

Meanwhile, chairman and adviser of Pertubuhan Baitul Sakinah As-Syariff, Mohd Fadzil Ali, described the combination of an iftar and yee sang celebration as the best approach to honouring the country’s cultural diversity.

He said that yee sang symbolises prosperity and togetherness, while iftar represents gratitude and the sharing of sustenance. When combined, it reflects the spirit of mutual understanding among different communities.

Mohd Fadzil also conveyed his appreciation for the company’s contributions, which enabled underprivileged children to experience the joy of Syawal.

EHH Food Industry senior brand and marketing executive Suliza Mastar said that the event reflects the company’s commitment to fostering unity and strengthening ties among management, employees and strategic partners on a harmonious platform.
