KUALA LUMPUR, March 5 (Bernama) -- Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) has channelled RM68 million towards nationwide corporate social responsibility (CSR) and social investment initiatives in 2025, benefiting more than 760,000 Malaysians across various communities.
In a statement, it said these programmes span a wide range of community priorities, including scholarships and education programmes, asnaf assistance, community upliftment, women’s entrepreneurship, Santuni MADANI initiatives, and financial literacy initiatives such as Celik MADANI.
“This reflects PNB’s longstanding commitment to ensuring that the value it creates is returned meaningfully to the rakyat,” it said in a statement released in conjunction with its Raikan Ramadan Bersama PNB event.
This year, PNB’s Raikan Ramadan Bersama PNB brought together 66 orphans from selected welfare homes across the Klang Valley, alongside 50 students from the Celik MADANI financial literacy programme under Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB).
As part of its social investment initiatives, PNB said it contributed RM250 to each beneficiary, comprising RM100 in cash and RM100 credited directly into their Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) account, along with a commemorative gift.
“This allocation, particularly the ASB contribution, reflects PNB’s commitment to promoting financial literacy and nurturing disciplined savings behaviour from a young age,” it said.
PNB group chairman Raja Tan Sri Arshad Raja Tun Uda said Ramadan is a period to cultivate empathy, social responsibility, and collective compassion, reflecting PNB’s efforts that go beyond short-term assistance and are intended to support long-term financial independence among Malaysians.
“In the past, independence was defined as liberation from colonial rule, but today, we recognise another essential form of independence, which is financial independence.”
“As we approach the festive season of Aidilfitri, we are grateful for the opportunity to share our blessings and bring joy to these children,” he said.
