KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 (Bernama) -- The Ramadan Iftar hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) yesterday served as an important platform to strengthen synergy between the government, diplomatic partners and tourism industry players in support of the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign.

The event, jointly organised with Tourism Malaysia and held at a hotel here, was graced by Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.

It brought together foreign diplomats, state executive councillors for tourism and industry players, alongside senior management from MOTAC and Tourism Malaysia.

In a statement, Tourism Malaysia said the gathering also fostered networking and engagement in a spirit of goodwill, reflecting unity and mutual respect.

“The Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister also held an interactive session with industry players to discuss challenges faced by the sector and exchange views on measures to strengthen the development of the country’s tourism and cultural industries,” the statement read.

Tourism Malaysia said the engagement reflected MOTAC’s commitment to ensuring that policies and initiatives remain responsive to industry needs, while strengthening strategic cooperation between the government and stakeholders.

Guests at the event also experienced Malaysia’s cultural diversity through local cuisine, traditional music performances and an exclusive screening of the VM2026 promotional video.

Reflecting the government’s commitment to maintaining a safe and conducive tourism environment, the event also featured a national security briefing by the Royal Malaysia Police, highlighting the importance of multi-stakeholder cooperation in ensuring the country remains a safe, welcoming and trusted destination for international visitors.
