TOKYO, March 13 (Bernama-Kyodo) -- Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi returned to her official duties on Friday, a day after she cancelled some engagements due to feeling unwell, according to the top government spokesman, Kyodo News reported.
She had cancelled a meeting with ambassadors from Gulf nations the previous day and took the rest of the day off after a doctor at her official residence said she appeared to have a cold.
"She has since recovered and will participate in engagements as planned" for Friday, Chief Cabinet Secretary Minoru Kihara said during a regular press conference.
Takaichi notably did not leave her seat for extended periods of time during a House of Representatives budget committee session on Thursday, later meeting with a doctor. Kihara filled in for her at the gathering with the Gulf Cooperation Council that evening.
On Friday morning, she walked to the prime minister's office and attended a parliamentary session.
