TWO FAMILIES RECEIVE RM3,000 AID AFTER FIRE DESTROYS HOMES IN IPOH

IPOH, March 14 (Bernama) -- The Kepayang state assemblyman (ADUN) service centre has channelled RM3,000 in aid to two families affected by a fire in Kampung Kepayang, Fair Park, here recently.

Kepayang service centre representative Wong Kar Keat handed over the assistance to the two families.

The fire severely damaged two semi-wooden houses, but no injuries or loss of life were reported.

Wong, who is also the political secretary to Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming, said that on the day of the incident, he received a call from the village head informing him that a fire had broken out in the village.

“I rushed to the scene to assess the situation and discussed with the Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) to arrange temporary accommodation and food for the victims,” he said in a statement today.

He said the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department (ICU) had also visited the site and provided aid to the victims.

He said that although the amount given cannot fully cover the losses suffered, it can at least help ease the victims’ burden and provide some relief as they prepare for Aidilfitri.

“This also proves that the ADUN service centre, the private sector and relevant agencies are always with the people and providing the necessary assistance and support, especially when they face difficult moments,” he said.

On Tuesday, it was reported that a fire had destroyed two semi-detached houses and seven vehicles in Kampung Kepayang, Fair Park.
