KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 (Bernama) -- FGV Holdings Berhad (FGV) channelled contributions to over 40 recipients and distributed 2,000 packs of bubur lambuk to traffic police personnel and the public in conjunction with the launch of Ops Selamat 26 and the breaking of fast event with the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) today.

The programme, held at Sogo Kuala Lumpur, is part of FGV's corporate social responsibility (CSR) project under the “FGV Seikhlas Hati” initiative, which focuses on road safety, smooth traffic flow and community well-being during the festive season.

FGV chief strategic communications officer Azmi Yaakop said the programme is a token of appreciation for the crucial role played by traffic police personnel in ensuring smooth traffic flow, particularly during festive seasons.

"This is one way for us to convey FGV's appreciation and gratitude to all traffic police personnel nationwide for carrying out their duties with integrity and responsibility.

"Insya-Allah, with the help of the traffic police, traffic flow throughout the festive season will be smoother and safer,” he told a media conference here today.

He added that over 40 recipients, comprising widows of traffic police personnel, single mothers, orphans and persons with disabilities, each received RM200 in cash as well as daily essentials produced by the company.

"This is a sign of our appreciation to the traffic police personnel and their families. Although it's not much, it will hopefully help ease their burden as they prepare to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” he said.

According to him, the initiative is a first-time collaboration between FGV and JSPT, and an effort to expand assistance to the underprivileged.

He added that FGV will continue to expand its CSR initiative, including flood assistance, back-to-school contributions and collaboration with relevant agencies such as zakat centres, to help the needy.
