IPOH, March 28 (Bernama) -- More than 3,000 visitors attended the two-day ‘Program Satelit: Karnival Kita MADANI X Program MADANI Rakyat (PMR) 2.0’ for Perak, held at the Sultan Azlan Shah Health Ministry Training Institute (ILKKM SAS), which began yesterday.

The Department of Information’s (JAPEN) Communication Services and Community Development Division director Muhammad Najmi Mustapha said the programme aims to promote and provide early publicity for the Perak edition of MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR), which is scheduled to take place from April 3 to 5 at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Meru.

He said the programme is the first satellite edition for 2026, implemented by JAPEN in strategic collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Department’s (JPM) Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU).

Among the key highlights of the programme are well-being and economic initiatives, including Rahmah Sales and Agro MADANI Sales, which offer goods at affordable prices to help ease the cost of living for the people.

“In addition, ILKKM SAS staff also had the opportunity to enjoy free motorcycle engine oil change services, provided specially in conjunction with this programme,” he said, when speaking at the programme’s opening ceremony.

Finance Minister’s political secretary Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim officiated the programme today, which was also attended by Perak JAPEN director Azrul Hasan.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Najmi said that the spirit of togetherness and community is further strengthened through social activities such as gotong-royong, Ziarah Kasih, and children’s colouring competitions.

“What is more interesting is that there are also exhibition booths and service counters set up by government agencies, as well as briefing sessions on current issues, which give the public the opportunity to better understand government policies and initiatives,” he said.

According to him, the ‘Karnival Kita MADANI’ is a JAPEN initiative, which serves as a platform for on-the-ground engagement involving various departments and agencies, in delivering information, policies, and government initiatives to local communities more effectively, right down to the grassroots level.
