KUALA LUMPUR, March 29 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have confirmed that no seizures involving a drug known as ‘strawberry quick’ have been recorded to date.
Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said this was established following a comprehensive nationwide review, including the latest checks conducted yesterday by the police and the Education Ministry.
He said images accompanied by warning messages about the alleged substance had previously gone viral early last year and have recently resurfaced on social media.
“The images are believed to have been used to raise concern among teenagers and parents to be more vigilant.
“However, at the same time, the spread of unverified information like this can cause unnecessary public anxiety,” he said in a statement today.
Earlier, an image showing pink bear-shaped candy went viral, accompanied by claims that it was a new type of drug targeting school students.
