KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 (Bernama) — The country's women wushu queen, Tan Cheong Min continued to make Malaysia famous and proud by winning the gold medal in the nangun event at the third edition of the Taolu World Cup in Yokohama, Japan, today.
Cheong Min, who is also the 2019 world champion, topped the competition with a total score of 9,770 points, leaving the nearest competitors from Hong Kong (9,756 points) and Vietnam (9,646 points) who won silver and bronze respectively.
Malaysia also brought took home the silver medal through Calvin Lee Wai Leong, who scored a total of 9.760 in the men's nandao category while Wong Weng Son won bronze in the men's changquan category with a total of 9.780 points.
Meanwhile, Pang Pui Yee finished in fourth place in the women's jianshu event with 9,756 points, behind the representatives of China who won gold (9,796 points), Vietnam (9,773 points) and Hong Kong (9,766 points).
