ACLE: JDT, BURIRAM UNITED SHARE A POINT IN SSI

ISKANDAR PUTERI, Dec 3 (Bernama) -- Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) were forced to forget their desire of collecting three points at home when they were tied 0-0 against Thai giants Buriram United in the Asian Champions League Elite (ACLE) match at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium (SSI), here, today.

The match involving the top clubs from Malaysia and Thailand was expectedly intensed when it was marred by three red cards issued by the referee.

The first red card in the 10th minute was for JDT player Murilo Santos when he fouled Dion Cools outside the penalty box, followed by the second red card issued to Buriram United captain Theerathon Bunmathan in the 43rd minute after committing a foul outside the game on Arif Aiman ​​Mohd Hanapi.

Meanwhile, the third red card was issued to JDT defender Park Jun Heong in injury time after fouling Guilherme Campos Bissoli.

The clash, played in rainy conditions from the first minute, saw both teams struggle to organise their attacks towards the goal.

JDT initially had to play with 10 players, but managed to absorb Buriram's pressure and ensure that no goals were conceded.
