LALIGA EA SPORTS FC BEAT THE BEST WINNER WILL GET CHANCE TO WATCH LALIGA MATCH IN SPAIN

PETALING JAYA, Feb 24 (Bernama) -- LALIGA in collaboration with Vertex Esports will for the first time host Laliga EA Sports FC Beat the Best, a football esports tournament that will take place at Aeon Bandar Utama from March 17 to 23 for the preliminary round of the tournament.  

Vertex Esports chief marketing officer Kelvin Tee said the final, which will be open to all esports fans in the country, will take place on April 12 and 13, offering grand prize winners an opportunity to travel to Spain and watch LaLiga matches. 

More interestingly, Spanish football legend Luis Garcia will also participate in the event and a networking session with local fans will also be organised during the tournament.

"We expect a total of 1,000 participants to take part in this tournament which offers total prize pool of RM30,000, besides the winner of the Malaysian tournament will have the opportunity to travel and experience LALIGA in Spain.

"What we want to do is to provide opportunities for all amateur esports players to come forward and join us, because we know that there are many talented players who do not have the opportunity to play," he told reporters at the launch ceremony held at Aeon Bandar Utama here today. 

Meanwhile, Laliga's delegate in Malaysia Adrian Prol expressed immense pride in bringing the tournament to the country for the first time.

"We are very proud to hold for the first time this prestigious tournament to crown the best amateur player in Malaysia. This tournament represents the values of the new era for Laliga, which shares with EA SPORTS the importance of the alliance between football, entertainment, technology, and gaming.

“We are also very happy to have found the right partners to bring the tournament to the country," he added.
