FRASER'S HILL, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- St George Continental Cycling Team’s Tsen Ren Bao put behind him yesterday's minor crash to emerge as the best Malaysian rider in Stage Five of the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) from Temerloh to Fraser's Hill today.
Despite clocking three hours, four minutes and 20 seconds to finish 44th in Stage Five, the 22-year-old was far from pleased with his performance as he lost further ground in the fight for the White Jersey (Best Asian Rider).
"The crash yesterday actually didn't affect me. I was just not good enough today.
“I’m a bit disappointed because I lost touch with the leading bunch, as my target was to get on the podium for the best ASEAN stage rider,” he said.
Commenting on the remaining three stages, he admitted that the team’s chances of finishing as the overall best team were slim, as there are only four riders left in their lineup.
“We have to ride smart in Stages Six and Seven because Stage Eight will be very challenging, as we will be riding through the heart of Kuala Lumpur to get to the finishing line,” he said.
