KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 (Bernama) -- National’s top mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei fell short of reaching the final after losing to China’s top seeds Jiang Zhen Bang-Wei Ya Xin in a thrilling semi-final at the 2025 Denmark Open, today.
The world champions put up a spirited fight before succumbing 17-21, 21-18, 18-21 in an intense 65-minute battle at Jyske Bank Arena, Denmark.
Tang Jie-Ee Wei showed great determination after losing the opening game, bouncing back to force a decider but the Chinese pair held their nerve in the crucial stages of the third game to book their place in the final.
It was the Chinese pair’s fourth win in six career meetings against the Malaysian pair.
Jiang-Wei will meet either their compatriots and defending champions Feng Yan Zhe-Huang Dong Ping or Japan’s Hiroki Midorikawa-Natsu Saito in tomorrow’s final.
