KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 (Bernama) -- The hope of the junior women's doubles, Low Zi Yu-Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan to win the World Junior Badminton Championship was dashed when they lost to their opponents today.

In the action held in Guwahati, India, the national pair who were placed as the third seeds of the tournament had to accept a straight set defeat to the Chinese representatives Tan Ke Xuan- Wei Yue Yue 13-15, 17-19 in 37 minutes.

For the record, this is the second consecutive final for Zi Yu in the women's doubles event after also being runner-up last year with Dania Sofea Zaidi who had to withdraw after suffering a knee injury.

For Noraqilah Maisarah, it is her second medal in the tournament after winning bronze in the mixed doubles event with Loh Ziheng.

“Just now we didn't play well while our opponents were in top form.

“ They were aggressive and we were a little nervous,” said Zi Yu via audio shared by Badminton World Federation (BWF) with the media today.
