KUANTAN, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- The Sangsaka Biru Contingent (Royal Malaysia Police) emerged as the overall champion by winning four out of five sports contested at the '60th Interforce Games Royal Malaysia Police-Singapore Police Force' which ended today.
The championships between the two forces - the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) with the participation of 84 athletes and the Singapore Police Force (SPF) with 77 athletes - took place from Oct 28 to today (Oct 30) in and around Kuantan.
In the competition, the PDRM team successfully won the Golf event, which was held at the Royal Pahang Golf Club, followed by Badminton with a 5-2 result at the Pahang Badminton Association Hall, Indera Mahkota.
For the Women's Futsal event, the PDRM team also successfully defeated SPF 2-0 at the Pahang Sports Complex, while SPF only managed to secure one victory in the Netball event by defeating PDRM 57-55, which took place at the International Islamic University of Malaysia (UIA) Kuantan Indoor Arena.
The final event, Football, saw Esscom Special Force Chief of Staff SAC Nasri Mansor emerge as the hero after scoring the only goal of the match in the 54th minute, resulting in PDRM defeating SPF 1-0.
The match, held at the Darul Makmur Stadium here this afternoon, was also witnessed by Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay and Deputy Commissioner of Police Singapore How Kwang Hwee.
