RACING PRODIGY AL-ADAM MIKAIL GETS A BOOST FROM PAHANG GOVT

03/11/2025 08:42 PM

KUANTAN, Nov 3 (Bernama) -- The Pahang government has extended financial aid to 11-year-old racing prodigy Al-Adam Mikail Mohd Hamirul Aliff, to bring fame to the state and country on the international stage at the FIM MiniGP World Final championship in the 160cc class in Valencia, Spain.

Pahang Communications and Multimedia, Youth, Sports and NGOs Committee chairman Fadzli Mohamad Kamal said the assistance is to lift the racer's spirit as he will be racing in the World Series Final in Spain in mid-November.

"This young racer has immense talent, we pray that Al-Adam Mikail will do his best to make Pahang and Malaysia famous," he said.

He said this when presenting a donation to the Pahang-born racer at his office at the Sultan Ahmad Shah Administration Centre (PPSAS) here today.

Fadzli said the donation was "pocket money" for the youngster to compete on the world stage, noting that the state government had previously provided him assistance as encouragement.

“In the past three years, the state government has helped this racer several times, with many achievements recorded, including becoming the FIM MiniGP Malaysia champion for the 160cc category.

“We always support the involvement of young people, including children and teenagers, in motorsports because it builds character and engages them in a healthy activity,” he said.

Meanwhile, Al-Adam Mikail said all preparations have been carried out, in terms of training which he does almost daily at the Gong Badak circuit in Terengganu and hopes that his efforts will pay off in the future.

The youngest of three siblings, who will depart for Spain this Wednesday with his father Mohd Hamirul Aliff Abd Halim, 33, is also expected to face the challenges of the chilly weather in the European country.

“I will stay focused and do my best to bring glory to the country and hope for prayers from everyone for success,” he said.

Al-Adam Mikail will be racing against more than 40 top riders from 23 countries in the qualifying round scheduled to begin on Nov 14 before heading into the final round.
