PAHANG SULTAN DONATES RM60,000 TO YAKEB

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 6 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, through Yayasan Sultan Abdullah, graciously contributed RM60,000 to the National Athletes Welfare Foundation (YAKEB) during the “Walk With Al-Sultan Abdullah: The King of Sports” event held at Stadium Merdeka here yesterday.  

In addition to YAKEB, His Royal Highness also presented RM40,000 to the Association of Former State and National Football Players, as a gesture of concern and appreciation for the services of the nation’s sports heroes.  

ShekhinahPR Chief Executive Officer Datuk Christopher Raj described the organisation of the “Walk With Al-Sultan Abdullah: The King of Sports” programme as a meaningful success that expressed appreciation for the contributions of national sports legends while fostering unity through the spirit of well-being and heritage.

“We are truly grateful for the success of this event and hope that former national athletes feel the appreciation they deserve for their contributions.  

“The presence of Their Royal Highnesses (the monarch and Tengku Ampuan Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah) made the occasion even more special, reflecting deep gratitude towards the nation’s sports heroes,” he said.  

The royal initiative held at Stadium Merdeka is seen as a poignant reminder of the spirit of unity, well-being and sporting excellence that symbolises national pride and reflects the collective journey of Malaysians in the spirit of togetherness and love for the homeland.
