PENANG, Nov 18 (Bernama) -- Hollywood Samurai skipper Raymond Roberts admits that consistent performance is never easy to maintain, even with years of experience behind him.
Fresh off winning the first race of the Class 1 category in the Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta (RMSIR) 2025 from Port Klang to Pangkor, Roberts said staying at the top requires constant effort and discipline.
He stressed that consistency comes from putting in the work with his crew, noting that training remains the backbone of their success.
“I think one of the most important things is training. Like in any sport, you have to train together and you have to practise together,” he said when met recently.
Meanwhile, the 52-year-old skipper hopes his team can maintain their performance over the remaining two races and he is determined to chase his fourth title in the prestigious regatta.
The nine-day race from Nov 14 to 22 features 23 teams and will continue to Penang before concluding in Langkawi.
The RMSIR, first held in 1990, is the second-oldest regatta in Asia and the brainchild of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, who was then the Raja Muda of Selangor.
