JDT WHIP MELAKA FC 7-1 TO MAINTAIN 100 PERCENT RECORD IN SUPER LEAGUE

ISKANDAR PUTERI, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) continued to maintain their unbeaten record in the Super League competition after a goal fest, crushing Melaka FC 7-1 at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium (SSI) tonight.

The win achieved today by Xisco Munoz’s team marked their 10th consecutive win this season, further solidifying the Southern Tigers' dominance at the top of the league.

The home team made an aggressive start right from the kick off, attacking the visitors' defence before opening the scoring in the sixth minute through defender Jonathan Silva, who finished off a pass from Mohd Afiq Fazail with a clean strike.

JDT continued to add to their tally in the 32nd minute after sensational striker Bergson Silva headed in a free kick taken by Oscar Arribas, beating the opposing goalkeeper.

As the match entered the second half, JDT continued to dominate the game, scoring two goals to leave Melaka FC far behind.

Substitute Heberty Fernandes contributed the third goal in the 48th minute from a through ball by Jairo Da Silva, while Teto Martin added JDT's fourth goal in the 50th minute after the opposing defence failed to make a clean header to clear the ball from the danger zone, allowing him to fire a shot from outside the penalty box.

Without waiting long, Bergson Silva once again emerged as the hero by adding JDT's fifth goal with an easy finish after controlling a long pass from Park Junheong.

Eight minutes later, JDT compounded the opponents' misery when Teto Martin scored the sixth goal after receiving a neat pass from Heberty Fernandes.

The visiting team managed to surprise JDT when substitute Abdul Azim Rahim scored their first goal in the 86th minute but the joy was short-lived as JDT immediately widened the gap through Heberty Fernandes, who converted a free kick, securing a 7-1 victory.

With this win, JDT has now accumulated 30 points from 10 matches.
