VOLLEYBALL
The national women's team started its campaign on the wrong foot, conceding to Indonesia 12-25, 12-25, 16-25 at the Huamark Indoor Stadium in Group B action.
Malaysia will continue their group stage matches against Vietnam tomorrow, followed by Myanmar on Friday.
Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
CRICKET:
The national women’s team sealed a semifinal berth in the T10 event after finishing second in Group B.
Malaysia began today’s group fixtures at the Asian Institute of Technology with a 26-run win over the Philippines, before falling by four wickets to group winners Myanmar.
The women’s team will now battle defending champions Thailand for a place in the final.
After defeating the Philippines yesterday, the national men’s cricket squad kept their winning momentum in the T20 competition by beating Indonesia by six wickets at the TerdThai Cricket Ground.
Malaysia, who won the toss and opted to bat, posted 78 runs from 9.0 overs, while Indonesia managed 75 runs from 20.0 overs.
