BANGKOK, Dec 14 (Bernama) -- The National men’s 4x100 metre (m) freestyle relay managed to finish on the podium for the second consecutive edition following a bronze medal finish at the SEA Games Thailand 2025 here, today.
The Malaysian team comprising Khiew Hoe Yean, Arvin Shaun Singh Chahal, Lim Yin Chuen and Terence Ng Shin Jian clocked 3 minutes 20.87 seconds (s) at the Sports Authority of Thailand Swimming Pool.
Despite missing out on retaining silver in the 2023 edition, Arvin was still relieved to help Malaysia remain on podium.
“I can't complain. A medal is a medal. It's good to just get another medal added to the cabinet,” he told reporters after the race.
Singapore defended the gold medal and broke their own Games record of 3:16.82s in 2019 edition with a new time of 3:16.65s while Vietnam secured silver after finishing with a time 3:20.01s.
Meanwhile, national swimmer Bryan Leong recorded 24.55s to finish fifth behind gold medallist Teong Tzen Wei of Singapore with 23.24s.
Singapore’s Quah Zheng Wen earned silver with 23.24s while bronze belonged to Noguchi Logan Wataru of the Philippines with a time of 23.97s.
The swimming competition will end tomorrow.
The SEA Games Thailand 2025 is taking place from Dec 9 to 20 across two provinces: Bangkok and Chonburi.
