VILLARREAL CF TO HOST APAC ID CAMP IN KUALA LUMPUR

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 20 (Bernama) -- Spanish LaLiga club Villarreal CF will return to Malaysia this month to hold the second edition of the Villarreal Academy Asia-Pacific (APAC) ID Camp in Kuala Lumpur.

The talent identification camp will take place from Jan 23 to 25, bringing together selected players from Villarreal Academy’s partner academies across the Asia-Pacific region.

Participants this year will include players from Australia, the Philippines, Thailand, Kuwait and host country Malaysia.

The camp will be hosted by Villarreal Malaysia Academy at Arena Sukan Kuala Lumpur and will be run by Villarreal CF coaches Nano Márquez and Alex Mihai, with support from local academy coaches.

The best-performing players will be selected for the Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16 APAC Select Teams to represent Villarreal Academy in international tournaments in 2026.

Villarreal CF international business development manager Mar Llaneza in a statement said the club is looking forward to returning to Malaysia for the regional programme.

“We’re excited to be back in Malaysia for this year’s APAC ID Camp. It’s really special for us to be able to unite our partner academies from across Asia-Pacific and see coaches and players learn and grow together, and make friends for life.
