RM60,000 MADANI AID DISBURSED TO 19 LABUAN SPORTS BODIES

LABUAN, Feb 8 (Bernama) -- The Federal Territories Department (JWP), through the Federal Territories Sports Council (MSWP), disbursed RM60,000 in MADANI Aid to 19 sports bodies on this duty-free island for 2026 today.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Lo Su Fui presented the aid at Plaza Berpayung, Labuan International Sea Sports Complex.

He said the administrative aid is a trust fund requiring recipients to uphold integrity and practise sound governance.

He said the annual MADANI Aid is provided only to registered and actively operating sports bodies in the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.

He also reminded sports bodies about the Star Rating assessment scheduled to be implemented next year.

“I would like to remind all sports bodies in Labuan to ensure that their administrative matters are up to date, including document management, financial efficiency and records of achievements at the national and international levels,” he said.

He added that the rating system would serve as a benchmark for management efficiency and enhance the competitiveness and credibility of sports bodies, thus ensuring continued excellence in Federal Territories sports.

According to him, sports bodies that achieve a four- or five-star rating will be eligible for recognition as well as special incentives.

Meanwhile, the MADANI Aid presentation ceremony for sports bodies in the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya is scheduled to be held on April 8.
