The airport introduced a slew of measures towards carbon management and reduction to achieve its green goals. 

 

2. MYANMAR THANKS HUN SEN FOR CONDOLENCES -- FRESH NEWS

Myanmar's Senior General Min Aung Hliang thanked Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen for extending his condolences to Typhoon Yagi victims. More than 300 people lost their lives and hundreds were injured by severe floods and heavy rains in recent weeks.

1. UN AGENCIES RAISE MORE FUNDS FOR FLOOD VICTIMS -- GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Myanmar and the Humanitarian Coordinator are raising additional funds to assist flood victims. Underfunded agencies, despite receiving US$4 million, need funds to help 887,000 people in 65 townships who have been affected by Typhoon Yagi.

 

2. PRICE OF EDIBLE FROGS DROP DUE TO HIGH SUPPLY -- GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Over supply of edible frogs has pushed down prices in the market and has fuelled brisk business for traders but the trend is likely to reverse in November and December when frogs become scarce. The increase in frog farms is adding to the growth of the business.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that about 2,000 delegates and

   nearly 1,000 journalists from Laos and foreign countries are expected to

   attend the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and related summits in Laos

   from 8 to 11 October.
