NEW YORK, Oct 1 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar advanced in late trading on Monday, reported Xinhua.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.4 per cent to 100.780 at 3:00 pm (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro fell to US$1.1132 from US$1.1167 in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to US$1.3375 from 1.3386 dollars in the previous session.
The US dollar bought 143.69 Japanese yen, higher than 142.19 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US dollar rose to 0.8467 Swiss francs from 0.8407 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.3523 Canadian dollars from 1.3512 Canadian dollars. The US dollar climbed to 10.1623 Swedish Kronor from 10.0950 Swedish Kronor.
