Cambodia’s trade with the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) countries touched over RM100 billion from January to September this year, a 17.1 per cent rise compared to last year. Its trade volume with RCEP was 61.6 per cent of its total trade volume.

1.ASEAN BOLSTERING REGIONAL CAPITAL MARKETS -- VIENTIANE TIMES

ASEAN markets its 20th anniversary to promote connectivity, sustainability and resilience across regional capital markets. The Lao Securities Commission Office and the Asian Development Bank on Tuesday hosted the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum in Laos’ capital Vientiane.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Malaysia’s Speaker of the House of Representatives Tan Sri Datuk Johari Abdul held high-level talks in Hanoi on Tuesday. Both nations will mark the 10th anniversary of their Strategic Partnership in 2025.

 

2. VIETNAM BRACES FOR ANOTHER MAJOR TYPHOON -- VIETNAM NEWS

Typhoon Trami is expected to enter the East Sea on Friday which could trigger heavy rainfall in central Vietnam from Saturday to Monday. This is the sixth typhoon to hit the country this year. Large vessels have anchored at local piers after delaying their journeys.

 

MYANMAR

 

1.MYANMAR-RUSSIA CONDUCT NAVAL EXERCISE -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR  

The second Myanmar-Russia joint security naval exercise began with four navy ships from the Russian Pacific Fleet. The Russians visited Yangon, participated in friendly sports, studied the naval vessels of two countries and conducted harbour phase exercises as part of their visit.

2. MYANMAR TARGETS 30 PER CENT FOREST COVER -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Myanmar aims to preserve 30 per cent of its total area with forest reserves and 10 per cent of protected land area, in an effort to combat global warming impacts and protect its biodiversity. Environmental protection is given priority to prevent landslides and flooding.
