Homes could be built above and around Tampines MRT station, and office towers could spring up near the Bishan transport hub, under newly unveiled plans to redevelop both these town centres.

1.LAOS-FRANCE 30 YEARS STRONG BILATERAL TIES -- VIENTIANE NEWS 

Bilateral cooperation between Laos and France led to 90 development projects over a 30-year span in rural development, agriculture, heritage preservation, and sustainable tourism development. The French Development Agency supported these projects, which were implemented by Loa authorities. 

 

2.KOREA-FUNDED PREVENTION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ENDS -- VIENTIANE NEWS 

The Korea International Cooperation Agency-supported project to prevent and eliminate violence  against women in Laos, which started in 2020, ended this week. The project covered the development of trainers, an awareness campaign, statistics management, policy advocacy, and support for victims of  violence.

1.ASEANAPOL UNITE TO STEM TRANSNATIONAL CRIMES - - THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF  MYANMAR

Police chiefs of ASEAN members who attended the 42nd ASEANAPOL Conference hosted by Myanmar this week pledged to cooperate to combat cross-border crimes such as illicit drug trafficking, smuggling of arms and ammunition and online scams.

 

2 MYANMAR LAUDS INDIA’S LONG-TERM RELATIONS - -THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Myanmar’s Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said India has assisted the country in technological cooperation and developing economic sectors. Myanmar hosted an event to mark the 60th Anniversary of India Technical and Economic Cooperation 2024 in its capital Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

1.PRABOWO TO INSTILL DISCIPLINE IN THREE-DAY GOVT BOOTCAMP -- THE JAKARTA POST

President Prabowo Subianto and nearly all of his cabinet members arrived at a military academy located near Tidar Hill in Magelang, Central Java, on Thursday in an attempt to instill discipline in his large cabinet, amid blunders made by some of his ministers, just days after taking office.

 

2.GOVERNMENT TO IMPOSE 11% HIKE ON CIPALI TOLL ROAD TARIFF -- JAKARTA GLOBE

The government will impose an 11 percent rise on toll road tariff between Cikampek and Palimanan on the northern coasts of West Java, also known as the Cipali toll road, the operator company revealed on Thursday.
