MOSCOW, Dec 25 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Two children have survived a plane crash in Kazakhstan's Aktau, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan said on Wednesday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
Earlier in the day, the ministry said that an Azerbaijan Airlines plane flying from Baku to Grozny crashed at the Aktau airport in western Kazakhstan. The preliminary cause of the plane crash in Kazakhstan's Aktau was a collision with a flock of birds, according to Azerbaijan Airlines.
The Kazakh Ministry of Transport said there were 62 passengers and five crew members were on board the plane. A total of 28 people survived the plane crash in Aktau, the Kazakh Health Ministry said.
"The number of survivors was 28, including two children," the ministry said.
