HEAVY TRAFFIC EXPECTED AT SINGAPORE LAND CHECKPOINTS DURING SCHOOL, EID HOLIDAYS

07/03/2025 05:44 PM

SINGAPORE, March 7 (Bernama) -- Continuous heavy traffic is expected at Singapore’s Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints from March 14 to 24, and from March 28 to April 1, due to the upcoming Singapore school and Eid holidays, according to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

The agency said in a statement on Friday that during the recent Lunar New Year period from January 24 to 30, more than three million travellers crossed the land checkpoints, with a peak of over 521,000 travellers crossing in a single day on January 24.

ICA said car travellers departing during peak periods had to wait up to three hours for immigration clearance.

It said alternatively, travellers can consider taking the cross-border bus services.

“We seek travellers’ understanding to cooperate with ICA officers, observe traffic rules and maintain lane discipline,” ICA said.
