CAMBODIA

1. THAI PM TO VISIT CAMBODIA TO BOLSTER TIES -- FRESH NEWS

Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra will officially visit Cambodia on April 23 and 24, following an invitation from her Cambodian counterpart Hun Manet. During the visit, both leaders will preside over a ceremony to unveil a logo commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

 

2. CAMBODIAN-KAZAKHSTAN EYE TOURISM COOPERATION -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE

Cambodia and Kazakhstan plan to promote the tourism sector between their nations. A memorandum of understanding to deepen tourism is in the pipeline. Both countries have diplomatic relations that span over 30 years.

 

LAOS

1. VIETNAMESE PRESIDENT TO VISIT LAO -- VIENTIANE TIMES

Vietnam’s President Luong Cuong will lead a high-level delegation to Vientiane from April 24-25 at the invitation of Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith. The visit aims to enhance the relationship and comprehensive cooperation between the two traditional partners.

 

2. LAO-VIETNAM COMMIT TOWARDS GREEN GROWTH -- VIENTIANE TIMES

Vietnam and Lao continue to support sustainable development and multilateral collaboration to address global green transformation. Both governments pledged their commitment at the Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit held in Hanoi last week.

 

MYANMAR

1. DAMAGED EDUCATION INFRASTRUCTURE TO BE FIXED -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

The government will repair educational institutions damaged by the earthquake on March 28. This effort aims to ensure that students can continue their academic year in 2025–2026 without interruption. Temporary classrooms will also be arranged for students by June.

 

2. CEMENT IMPORTS PERMITTED TO MEET HIGH DEMAND -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Authorities have allowed the import of cement to meet the rising demand from the construction sector following the recent earthquake that damaged buildings, houses and infrastructures. A vessel transporting 3,010 metric tonnes arrived at the Shweme Port in Yangon last week.
