FLORA FAUNA DOME TO WELCOME WORLD LEADERS TO 47TH ASEAN SUMMIT

13/10/2025 08:32 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13 (Bernama) -- A new dome decorated with various types of flora and fauna at the main entrance of Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) is set to welcome the arrival of the world's leaders and delegations to the 47th ASEAN Summit this month.

The 10-metre-tall dome with a 20-metre diameter, inspired by Malaysian contemporary architecture, would welcome the leaders from around the world and the region, who will be assembling in Kuala Lumpur to discuss various important issues affecting this region.

In addition, the heads of state attending this year's summit would also have an opportunity to follow the ASEAN Legacy Tunnel and River of Progress that depict moments in the development of ASEAN since its inception in 1967.

Chief of the ASEAN Central Logistics Secretariat 2025 (SILA) Raja Saifful Ridzuwan Raja Kamaruddin said the combined usage of 80 LED panels transmitting a visual of a waterfall is also another attraction to this year's summit.

"This interactive concept features a modern approach that combines modern technology elements with regional heritage. It brings visitors on a journey of the evolution of ASEAN since its inception in 1967 until today.

"We want to show the beginning of ASEAN, the various eras it went through, and its challenges.

"This modern concept not only saves time and space, but enables the content on the LED to be refreshed every day to show how ASEAN continued to develop since Malaysia became Chair in 2025," he told reporters during a logistical recce work at the KLCC here, today.

Slated for Oct 26 to 28 in Kuala Lumpur, the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits is expected to become the biggest in the history of the event since it was first held in 1976.
