5.6-MAGNITUDE QUAKE HITS 125 KM EAST OF YAMADA, JAPAN -- USGS

BEIJING, Nov 9 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 jolted 125 kilometres (km) east of Yamada, Japan, at 2215 GMT on Saturday, said the United States (US) Geological Survey, reported Xinhua.

The epicentre, with a depth of 19.2 km, was initially determined to be at a latitude of 39.49 degrees north and a longitude of 143.40 degrees east.
