MOSCOW, Jan 12 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Google removed some of its medical reviews generated by artificial intelligence (AI) after reports they contained false health information that put people at risk of harm, Sputnik/RIA Novosti reported, citing British newspaper The Guardian.
Google removed such medical reviews generated by artificial intelligence (AI) after The Guardian's investigation found that people were being put at risk by false and misleading information, the publication stressed.
In early January, The Guardian reported that false and misleading health information contained in Google's AI reviews put people at risk of harm.
According to the newspaper, one such review mistakenly advised people with pancreatic cancer to avoid high-fat foods.
Experts, however, stated that this was the exact opposite of what should be recommended and could increase the risk of death for patients with the disease.
As the newspaper notes, Google's AI also provided false information about key liver tests, which could lead people with serious liver disease to believe they were healthy mistakenly.
