NEW DELHI, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul on Friday held talks with India’s parliament speaker Om Birla on potential areas of bilateral cooperation.
Their meeting took place in New Delhi on the sidelines of the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC).
"Discussions focused on the vast potential of the India-Malaysia partnership, including boosting tourism, enhancing mutual investment, and recognising the significant contribution of the Indian diaspora," Birla said in a post on X.
They reaffirmed "a shared commitment to strengthening parliamentary cooperation".
The Commonwealth conference, held from January 14 to 16, discussed issues ranging from traditional legislative matters to emerging challenges arising from the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and the rapid growth of social media.
Participants examined the impact of social media and AI on parliamentarians and legislative procedures.
