NEW DELHI, Feb 23 (Bernama) -- Maldivian, the national carrier of the Maldives, will relaunch flights between Malé and Dhaka from March 12 to cater to growing travel demand between the two South Asian capital cities.

The airline inaugurated its Dhaka office on Monday.

"Dhaka is a key market for Maldivian. The reopening of this route underscores our dedication to providing reliable, affordable and convenient travel options for Bangladeshi workers and Maldivian travellers alike," said Ibrahim Iyas, managing director of Maldivian, as quoted in a report by Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha.

"We are confident this service will further deepen the longstanding ties between our two countries," he added.

The twice-weekly service will operate on Sundays and Thursdays.
