NEW DELHI, Feb 24 (Bernama) -- Seven people were killed when a small plane crashed in eastern India on Monday evening.
The medevac plane with seven on board, including two crew members, took off from Ranchi airport in Jharkhand state for Delhi at 7.11 pm, according to India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The aircraft was a Beechcraft C90 operated by Delhi-based charter and air medical services operator Redbird Airways.
It crashed near Simaria in Jharkhand's Chatra district.
There were no survivors, a senior district official said.
After establishing contact with Kolkata, the aircraft requested a deviation due to weather conditions.
".. at 19:34 (hours), it lost communication and radar contact about 100 nautical miles southeast of Varanasi city, the DGCA said.
