100,000 WORSHIPERS PERFORM FRIDAY PRAYER AT AL-AQSA MOSQUE

27/02/2026 10:11 PM

JERUSALEM, Feb 27 (Bernama-WAFA) -- Around 100,000 Muslim worshipers performed Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the occupied city of Jerusalem despite tightened Israeli restrictions, Palestinian news agency (WAFA) reported, citing the Jerusalem Governorate.

It said the occupation forces prevented thousands of worshippers from reaching the Al-Aqsa Mosque, turning back thousands at the Qalandia checkpoint and Checkpoint 300, north and south of the city.

Israeli forces have recently beefed up their military presence across Jerusalem and at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, aiming to restrict access to the site.

Occupation authorities have also issued orders barring over 300 Palestinian citizens of Jerusalem from entering Al-Aqsa during the holy month, according to WAFA.
