THREE PAKISTANIS KILLED BY FALLING MISSILE DEBRIS

09/03/2026 01:14 PM

ISLAMABAD, March 8 (Bernama-dpa) — At least three Pakistanis were killed in separate incidents involving debris falling from aerial interceptions, German Press Agency (dpa) reported, citing officials on Sunday.

Two Pakistanis were killed in Dubai due to falling missile debris. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed grief and ordered the authorities to facilitate the repatriation of bodies, his office said in a statement.

The third man was killed while travelling on a boat in Iranian waters, some 30 kilometres off the south-western province of Balochistan. The region, the maritime boundary between Pakistan and Iran, is frequently visited by small boats to transport Iranian fuel.

The man was on a small boat when fragments of a projectile fell nearby, fatally injuring him, local police official Zahid Hussain told dpa. The man was later identified as a resident of Ganz Jiwani.

Hussain said it remains unclear what type of projectile caused the debris, though some media reports suggested it was an Israeli drone intercepted by Iranian air defences.

He said coastal towns along the Iranian border had been rocked by blasts since the war began, but fortunately, nothing had crossed into Pakistan.
